Rachel Gibson is an artist and illustrator based in Lincoln, Nebraska. She has been working as a freelance artist and designer since 2008, and began seriously illustrating biological specimens in 2010. She specializes in osteological drawing and paleo reconstructions, utilizing pen and ink, graphite, colored pencil, mixed media, and digital painting techniques. As a museum specialist, she focuses on public education programming and exhibit design. Her work has appeared at the Central Plains Society of Mammalogists meeting in Crete, NE, the Nebraska Academy of Sciences meeting in Lincoln, NE, the North American Symposium on Bat Research in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the Watkins Museum of History in Lawrence, KS and the Kenneth Spencer Research Library in Lawrence, KS.
Rachel graduated from Doane College in Crete, NE in 2013 with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in studio art and from the University of Kansas with an MA in Museum Studies in 2015. She is currently pursing and A.A.S. in Computer Science (programming focus) from Southeast Community College in Lincoln to further round out her skill set.
